The Fragility of Beauty

"Linea is a photographer, but her work extends beyond what she captures with her camera. She describes her photographs as sketches that she further refines and enhances. Amanda likes to think of Linea's works as resembling Baroque-era photographs, had cameras existed back then.

Amanda is a classical painter. Linea sees clear references to Matisse in Amanda's work, but with a stronger influence of feminism. She experiences a sense of calm and joy when viewing Amanda's minimalist line work. For Amanda, her art is her best attempt to capture and understand the world around her.

What we share is a focus on portraiture. For Linea, this often means self-portraits; for Amanda, it is mainly portraits of others, though we both engage in self-portraiture. It is important for us to convey the experience of being a woman in this world. We both work with beautiful subjects or characters, not because beauty has inherent value, but because we believe the world needs to see that our fragile reality is also incredibly beautiful, complex, and enriching.

Beauty is fragile, but incredibly important to us. Especially in times of war and crisis, we believe that by capturing beautiful moments, we can encourage viewers to pause, reflect, and be present in the fleeting moment."

All my work is available in limited editions of 6 or 1. Many of the artworks are set in vintage frames, which I restored myself. I have painted on the photographs or added details to each frame, ensuring the whole artwork comes together harmoniously.
Every piece features TrueView glass and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
